2 תערוכות עם עבודותי מוצגות במרחק 100 ק"מ האחת מהשניה.

האחת תערוכת יחיד בתיאטרון ירושלים- גלריה שופן. תוצג עד ה-17.6 כולל.

השניה, תערוכה קבוצתית בשם "Links" "בגלריה לאמנות עכשוית" בכפר ויתקין. תוצג עד ה-6.7

2 exhibitions with my work exhibited 100 k"m apart.

One: solo exhibition in the Jerusalem Theatre- Chopin gallery. Opened until the 17.6

The other: A group exhibition named "Links" at the "Hangar for contemporary art" gallery

in kfar Vitkin. Opened until the 6.7

 2 תערוכות, כל אחת והאווירה שלה.

 בירושלים. חיבור להווי התרבותי המקומי. אנשים הולכים להצגות וקונצרטים, נעצרים בגלריות, יושבים לדקה על הכורסאות המרופדות וממשיכים הלאה.

מבנה בטון עם פיסול מובנה של יחיאל שמי. עיצוב של שנות ה70, שטיחים אדומים ותאורה מסוגננת בצורות של "מולקולות".

המשפחה הירושלמית שלי שמחה שאני מציגה בעירם. אני מדברת בפתיחה על החיבור לירושלים, לאהל משה, לשכונת הבוכרים, למחנה יהודה. משפחות ששרשיהם נטועים חזק בהווי המקומי עוד מהמאה ה-19.

האווירה ב" האנגר ל..."  תואמת את שם המקום. לופט ממוקם מאחורי בית-אזור הלולים לשעבר. ריצפת בטון חשוף, תאורת נאון. הילדים שמחים לשחק בחוץ. הם הפכו קונסטרוקצית מתכת לבית עץ...אווירה פסטורלית. בתערוכה מוצגות עבודותיהן של אמניות. כל אחת עם הטכניקה והאמירה שלה. מפגשים בין האמניות ובינן לקהל המבקרים שהגיעו. עבודותי מקבלות מהות אחרת. הן מתקשרות עם העבודות שתלויות לצידן. הן נהפכות לחלק משלם....links 

2 exhibitions, each one with it's own unique atmosphere.

In Jerusalem. I'm connected to the unique Jerusalem culture. People going to see plays, listen to concerts. They stop in between to see an exhibition, sit in one of the galleries on an upholstered sofa, and continue on.

The concrete building, with it's sculptural elements by Yehiel Shemi , inaugurated in

1971 is house to my work now.

My family whose roots are interlaced with this city since the 19th century, are glad I'm exhibiting in their city.

The atmosphere in the "Hangar for..." suits it's name. A hangar- a cool lofty feel. Concrete floors and neon lights. A pastoralic vibe outside. The children use a metal construction as  a tree house...The work exposed is of women artists. Each one with her own saying and technique. My work has now a different life, it is part of a "whole" canvas of different works who are linked to each other.. "Links"

 

רגע לפני....התערוכה בירושלים... ושבוע וקצת לפני התערוכה בהאנגר לאמנות עכשיות

עוד יומיים. פתיחת התערוכה בתיאטרון ירושלים-גלריה שופן.

 כמעט הכל מוכן.

השכבתי את העבודות לישון בחדר שלי. מקבץ עבודות מסודרות ליד המיטה .

אספתי היום 3 עבודות אחרונות ומשם נסעתי לכפר ויתקין לפגוש את האוצרת אסנת ישראלי.

שם אני משתתפת בתערוכה קבוצתית ב "האנגר לאמנות עכשוית".

תערוכה שתפתח ביום שישי הבא ה-25.5.12. בין השעות 12.00-14.00

עד השבוע פעלתי במצב אוטומט.

איזה עבודות צריך לסיים. האם יש מספיק עבודות?

איפה למסגר ? איפה להדפיס? מה לכתוב?

שאלות של יום יום....

השבוע אני מתחילה אפילו להנות מהתערוכות הקרבות.

התערוכה שלי בתיאטרון ירושלים .My exhibition in the "Jerusalem Theatre"

It's 00.20 and I'm working on my C.V. + the list of names for my work. I think I'll call it a day...or not...

Suddenly I realise my exhibition is due in a week and I haven't sent even one invitation.... Lucky it's exhibited at the same time as the "Israel Festival " so it may be exposed to a larger audience....

I Like giving my work names. Most of the time it completes the ideas that aren't always obvious in my art work: "Clear blue sky"..."James bond Is alive and well"....well I'm not really sure it allows the audience to fully understand my own associations but still I have fun naming my work.

 I just like "words". I like to analyse their meaning. I often search for the meaning of a certain word I just "encountered" and since I speak several languages I try my luck in understanding the meaning of it ,by various associative techniques. At times I'm lucky and I "pull"  the right meaning and at others I realise my associations swept me into an imaginary world of  meanings...

Well...were was I?

"Out of Context"? Is it a coincidence I chose it as the name of my exhibition?

meaning it is unfair to quote out of context

I really like this explanation for the word "context". The fact that "texere" means "to weave" in Latin is exactly what I do in my work. I take all the images and words that I cut out of their primary context (images in newspapers books catalogues...) and try to weave them into a coherent work.

Most of my childhood I sort of felt "Out of context". Not an unhappy "out of context" but still out.
Although my father was a Diplomat and we lived abroad, it was clear to me I was Israeli. Israeli in my roots, my state of mind, my way of percieving life. At home we spoke in Hebrew .We lived an Israeli-Jewish life as a family , whereas outdoors we spoke English, Italian, French. We read signs  in foreign languages and ate all sorts of strange food. 
We visited Museums, Churches, Lakes ...We  spent time with French or Italian speaking aquaintaces, and befriended children who stopped in front of a niche with a Madonna and crossed themselves, run away from the angry concierge that spotted us treding on the grass...
yes, "I feel out of context" is the right expression.
Or was I ever "In Context"??
